In the spring, I made a loose comp between Miami's add of Chris Andersen last year and the 1997 Bulls adding Bison Dele. I see another one like that with Miami's add of Greg Oden. I am sure that other people have said this, although I haven't read it anywhere, but the Oden thing reminds me of the 1986 Celtics adding Bill Walton. Walton was able to stay on the floor and played great in a part-time role that one year, and that was one reason that team was bulletproof. Oden could conceivably make Miami nearly bulletproof if his body allows it.
more minutes/games played, oden or bynum?
If you consider Curry a PG here are the PGs currently better than Irving:
I think [Irving's] defense is fine

Pacers estimate Danny Granger will be out 3 weeks with calf injury. That means he might miss 2 games against Bulls.
RT @HarveyAraton: Here in Miami, LeBron just called Allen Iverson "pound for pound the greatest player ever"
Did Tony Parker get hit by a bus when I wasn't paying attention?
It's up to the FO to reign him in, aka do their job.
Entering this year he'd probably be 6th on my list. Paul, Rose, Curry, Westbrook, Irving, Parker. You could re-arrange the last 4 any order and I'd make no argument.
Again, just a week ago Noah didn't think he could play and now he's been 100% for 5 days?
I don't think Rose gave him the option to be cautious. Thibs might be insane, but he's not stupid so he knew he couldn't push on Rose at all.
I also suspect both Rose and the Bulls/Thibs knew that Rose was going to be out the whole year way earlier than everyone else and chose to withhold that info. So that makes Thibs' job easier. But it is yet another reason we shouldn't take everything they say at face value.
"We wanted to embarrass [the Mavericks] on their home floor," Bosh said. "We wanted to defecate on their night and we know [the Bulls] want to do that to us. They want to spoil what we have going and we're aware of that. We have to hit first."
He really said "defecate"?
am I going to like Gortat?
I'm in Brooklyn now, so I have to pick up the Grizz. I am thinking IND, HOU, and GSW for the next 3, then I have 1 left over. Any suggestions? Kind of think that WAS looks sort of interesting. I think I'd like another East team, so they seem like a good bet.
McHale : I think his coaching stint in Houston overall have been quite impressive
MIP: Forgot Favors; I'll go with him.

Your '14 Sixers! RT @ChrisVito: Wroten said B. Brown wants him to guide MCW: "I said, 'He's older than me. How am I supposed to do that?"
Christopher A. Vito @ChrisVito about 1 hour ago
Evan Turner on whether he'll watch Miami tonight for a scouting report: "You already know the scouting report. Whatever." #sixers
i'd also stay far, far away from indiana (that is a brutal style of play to have to watch more than once every couple of weeks if you don't actually have a rooting interest)
i'd also stay far, far away from indiana
He's their 5th big, by default. It's kinda risky, but he's got a different skillset and I hope that eventually he can help. Probably not at all this year.
rosas: wow. one tweet said that issues of "fit" were raised from nearly day 1 (fit could mean personality, methodology... who knows?)
The Mavs fired their new GM. Three months after hiring him
Any theory on why LAC-LAL was scheduled as the second game of the doubleheader?
but seeing Nash and Gasol play together is still going to be fun
1. Because the league thought that Kobe might play.
I'm not going to write off Dunleavy yet
The Miami Heat are amazing.
