I played a couple softball games with a college player, and he hit several towering fly balls. Did not hit one out.
Just got home from the game. What happened to Scutaro? didn't see him get hurt in any kind of obvious way.
You missed the take-out slide/chop-block?
Scutaro was injured when Holliday crashed into him in the first inning. Fox claimed Scutaro was limping later on in the game and the trainer was constantly talking to him. Scutaro wanted to stay in the game, but the Giants forced him out. He's getting MRIs done and might've hurt his hip.
Huh. He still came up with the big hit. I guess ... good job on Scutaro. Kind of curious what the consensus here was. I thought it was a rough play, but hey, that's baseball.
Could be misremembering, but I don't think anyone's ever been fined for going into second. Up to the players to police this. Schilling was quite candid that a pitcher's job includes making sure that the other team is dissuaded from making "overly aggressive" plays. Since this is the playoffs, some of the remedial education may extend into the 2013 regular season.
