Today's Birthday Team has a player who was known for having a remarkably large head.
He clearly limited it to players he'd actually seen in action, but skipping George Brett and Mike Schmidt seems ... odd.
...and even if you were dead-set on doing so, those two had a contemporary named Boggs who could play a bit.
Oh, and Paul Molitor was one hell of a "fourth-best third baseman in baseball" for several years.
Sparky also had a pretty good view of Brooks Robinson for a few games. And he put Rose at DH so he could get Rader in the lineup.
Rader was probably the host of the radio show where Sparky listed the team.
Game of the day (1977): Rangers 1, Orioles 0 (13).... One, Kiko mentioned in yesterday's thread that this was his first MLB game.
