a large point of disagreement in these threads seem to revolve around how you rank a GM.
Let's not fight. Lagares just hit a home run!
Don't take this the wrong way, but who were you? I don't recognize your handle.
I'm Alan S. I always forget that I changed my handle. I should probably change it again now that I no longer have to watch Valdespin do things like swing at pitches that bounce before they reach the plate and get caught stealing third base by 10 feet with two outs.
These threads start out:
Russlan: hey guys, I think its possible that something good could happen to the Mets.
Jack: the probabilities are strongly against it and I strongly value probabilities. People that don't are living in a dream world.
Russlan: but it's nice to talk about pleasant things about baseball sometimes and probabilities tell you that anything has a degree of possibility
Jack: if you don't play the favorite, you're a witch! Reality is a ########## nothing good ever happens or has ever happened and I'll bet you 100 dollars that God is dead!
How much does it really matter what he did in Low-A 5 years ago? He also does have a .347 career OBP in AA and hit well in very limited time in the PCL.
Let's turn your obsession around, since if it's not that, it'll be something else, and experience teaches us there's nothing to be gained by catering to an obsessive.
When did Something Other turn you into his personal #####?
It wasn't meant as an attack and I think most people around here would call standard operating procedure.
Dear god this is tiresome.
Since Jack is so clearly those other posters and is basically lying through omission about it it seems pretty logical to set him on ignore since that is truly bizarre and unacceptable Internet behavior in 2013.
This Dodger series is really going hurt their chances of going 27-20 (following the D-backs) over the end of the sesason to finish at .500. Which, while a fantasy, didn't seem Powerballesque.
I know Alderson's in love with the guy, but I am ready to be done with the Omar Quintanilla Experience.
Turner has an option left - send him to the minors and call up Tejada and run a platoon at SS.
Presumably, Something Other and OBC were both banned from the site
Arbitol himself harrassed Sam M. right off the site fer chrissakes.
Rafael Montero had another great start in AAA. He's been better than Wheeler was in AAA. Looking forward to seeing him pitch.
You need six qualified guys at least to get through a season if you want to compete.
I've been wondering this myself, but I have to wonder if this is a lost year in that regard. You're right, though, he underwhelms.
I make what I consider a good effort at not being hostile. Despite opinions to the contrary by only Carter and Arbitol (I think), I will most certainly make a better effort.
He wouldn't get much this winter, so if he doesn't improve, it isn't like much will be lost in trade, I don't think.
I like Byrd more than I ever did the last "over-his-head" guy, Hairston. I'd be fine with keeping Byrd.
