Does almost entirely with his fastball, so there are doubts on how he transitions as a ML starter.
Don't know anything about him but a guy with that kind of control seems like at worst a passable set up man. If he is a ground ball pitcher on top of it that's a solid combination for a reliever.
I still think it's foolhardy to schedule such a healthy percentage of games in places where it's almost guaranteed to be too cold or too stormy at this time of year. Some things are pretty constant, plus or minus the exact days. For example, it's a given that at least one big-ass cold front will barrel down out of Canada and cause nasty Spring thunderstorms and tornadoes across Missouri and the midwest, so maybe schedule the Cardinals for a chunk of away games during that most likely time period?
More games to make up than there are remaining off days. Also, I don't know the specifics, but they can't schedule a double-header for just any old day, there are restrictions in the players' agreement to be observed. I don't think we're near that point, but it sure seems like it's possible if things keep going like this.
I think the trick is to make sure most April home games in cold weather sites need to be within their own division, that way if there is a week of freaky weather, there are more options for rescheduling.
It's sunny here in Denver, although also about 30 degrees. If they are able to get in three of the four scheduled Rockies-Mets games, in a week when we've had a total of about a foot of snow, that will be an impressive accomplishment.
. . . keeping in mind that, at any given time, at least six teams have to be playing outside their division.
How many times a year do the Mets come to Colorado?
khris davis can hit in the majors
lot of folks yammer about him playing first but the crew tried that and he was a disaster in spring training
he is exclusively Braun's caddy for now as he cannot throw well enough for right and has no ability to handle center
but he can hit
the brewers didn't want to create any chNce of messing with Braun's offense
this portends more of Yuni down the road
The Rangers lineup goes R-R-R-R-L-L-L-L. I know batting order barely matters, but that seems silly. Relief pitchers could get the platoon advantage in every PA.
so if anyone posts the YouTube clip of pesci doing his "i'm a clown?" Thing only imagine instead of everyone laughing he beats liottA to death with the butt of his gun that would help eso grasp what i think of him right now
Feel pretty bad for M's fans, although it was laughable how many people on talk radio seemed convinced from their record spring training that they'd be a slugging ball club. But they are starting to get a White Sox 2007 esque vibe with their young position player development, more to the point, their complete lack of it. Safeco is turning into a place where prospects go to die. It's not a fun experience having been there myself with those White Sox kids from 06-09ish.
Wow, after K'ing the first two batters in the 7th Verlander gives up three straight hits to the bottom of the Ms lineup
Did you guys realize the Rockies are now 11-4?
