United holds on. Southampton outplayed United badly in the second half. Maybe the new coach was worth it.
SKY EXCLUSIVE: "Ok, strap yourselves in, it's 12 o'clock, it's lunchtime, we're into the afternoon." Sky now understand the very concept of time.
Quotes attributed to Internacional Sporting Director Luis Cesar Souto de Moura: "Leandro Damiao will only leave if there is a very quick negotiation, but no official offer has been made. The news involving interest for Leandro Damiao, especially from Tottenham, will always happen, they come and go. Damiao has a lot of quality, is a goalscorer, was the top scorer in the Olympics and he is a very important player. Internacional understand that it's extremely difficult, very difficult, for Leandro Damiao to leave now."
That was some goal by Bale. He really is a special player. Based on a quick survey of the blogosphere, the "he plays on the left" brigade is strangely silent just now.
He's scored a bunch of those goals as lone striker, but yes
And sure, that's a lot of money, but staying up is absolutely worth it, right?
Would you swap Bale for Walcott? I would not.
Well, I'd distinguish two kinds of "worth it". Can QPR actually have a functioning business model under which they project to make money, given their escalating wage bill and transfer costs? No, I don't think so. But, would QPR be at a very significant risk of blipping out of existence if they got relegated? Perhaps. So more big signings are "worth it" in that if QPR can survive, they kick the can down the road and don't utterly implode.
Mario Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola speaking to SKy Italia: "With Balotelli the value of Serie A grows by 50%, that of the Premier League diminishes by 50%. He also claimed English journalists will now be worried about their jobs because they won't know what to write about anymore. The man's a charmer."
Beckham to PSG is being reported in real newspapers. That's nuts.
Multiple reporters (real reporters, not Mail/Mirrors) are confirming that Spurs are going to try to get Damiao today. Ok.
Damaio wouldn't sign for me in Football Manager unless I gave him an absurd contract. It is okay that I don't like him in real life for that?

Evidently the deadline has killed twitter.
Beckham was asked precisely how much will be donated to charity on his behalf. He replied: "A very good figure ... that's one thing that we're very excited about, to be able to give a huge sum to a children's charity in Paris is special." Sitting beside him, Leonardo explains: "We are going to arrange that, we haven't yet had the time to organise everything. We just agreed on the concept and we will inform you all when it has been finalised." Lots of folks wondering whether this is some wheeze to enhance the reputation of PSG and Beckham while lightening taxable income. I don't know, but your inquisitiveness is admirable.
Some rumors that Nacho Monreal is moving from Malaga to....ARSENAL! ARSENAL TRANSFER NEWS ALERT!!!!!!
I'm not sure how QPR's business model works
Are they any different that Chelsea or Man City or Fulham? It's clearly not being run as a business.
