Nelson Cruz, who had the audacity to serve just 50 games of his 50-game suspension, was a non-factor at the plate, going 0-for-4. Those who would point to this as some kind of karma are encouraged to tell me what Marlon Byrd will hit tonight, or perhaps how Jason Giambi's all-the-difference-in-the-world home run last Tuesday fits into this narrative.
he would have won the National League batting title had he not taken himself out of consideration for the honor. (He was hitting .346 when he was suspended.)
I still can't believe that Baseball-Reference goes along with this silliness.
What _is_ b-r doing? I forget what Sean decided on, but looking at the 2012 NL Leaders page it lists Posey but with a yellow hue around his name -- but no explanation on the page as to just what in the opposite of heaven is going on.
However, it's applied to all batting champions (except the current one), not just Posey.
But Posey is the only one who is affected, no?
But the rule is being applied differently to Cabrera than it is to everyone else.
Brennan is just an outrage factory.
Except there is no glow on Posey or anybody else. Nor is there any black ink on Melky's page. http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/batting-titles.shtml
There is something called doing your time or serving your sentence. In Brennan's case, I wish her sentence was to not write any more sentences on this topic.
Brennan's just being a troll. Don't feed her.
