Plus, Davis has two extra games (Cabrera has 31 30 team games left while Davis has 33).
I think everybody in the Tigers organization, including the starting third baseman, would rather win the World Series. I'm sure Cabrera wants to play but there must be somebody making the decision that it won't hurt him physically to keep playing. Historically Cabrera doesn't rest much, but of course he usually isn't hurting so much either.
If Cabrera is one or two homeruns behind in the Triple Crown Race, no, the Tigers aren't going to give him days off unless he needs them.
Shockingly, Chris Davis has slowed down since making all the comments about how he wants to break the "clean record." A nice 32% k rate as well since the ASB. Here's hoping he doesn't make it to 50.
Chris Davis is having a fantastic August -- which just goes to show how otherworldly Cabrera's August has been:

And how many .350/50/150 seasons has there been in MLB history? Just 4, and none since 1932 (Ruth 1921, Ruth 1927, Wilson 1930, Foxx 1932).
Plus yeah, back to back Triple Crowns would be cool
