Wells has looked at video and said the only difference between when he hit 10 homers by May 15 and his current slump is a lack of execution.
Wells is just six for his last 48, dropping his average to .253.
Vernon wells is a ####### butcher in LF.
I would have gone with, "Vernon wells is a #######" ...
God dammit Vernon wells you miserable piece of #### there have been 4 "hits" by my count in this game that should've been outs and four runs that shouldn't have happen thanks to your miserable "jumps" in LF which are the jumps of a parkinsonian paraplegic. You are the worst left fielder ever at least for tonight's game and you are like the gay love child of Greg luzinski and Dave kingman and uglier too.

Was this the worst trade of the last decade?
Yes. It wins because it was the worst trade of the decade even in FORESIGHT, not just hindsight.
He's physically broken right now and the Yanks are nuts if they keep running him out there against righties.
Why on earth is Wells hitting ahead of Youklis vs a RHP?
“I just have to ride it out,” Wells said
I don’t remember the bad stuff. You learn from it and move on.
Nice to look at B-R and see the Yankees with a sub-100 OPS+ at CA, SS, 3B, LF, RF and dead on in CF, 1B. A shame they designated Ben Francisco for assignment as it was fun to see him there too with his 12 OPS+. What sucks is even with that nightmare lineup, plus Hughes having a poor year (78 ERA+ over 11 starts) they still are in a playoff position (2nd wild card) and just 2 games out of first.
Another bad trade of the decade, which was also ballyhooed when it was made, was the Mariners trading Adam Jones, Chris Tillman, & co. for talented yet injury-prone Erik Bedard. Bit different though.
What could the Yankees do with the C position? Russell Martin wanted as much as 7.5m a year, money they desperately needed for Ichiro!
Besides, by platooning Cervelli and Stewart they have almost half of Martin's WAR in a cheap platoon that saved them over $5M this year.
And despite that shiny 127 OPS+, Martin only has 16 XB hits in 149 ABs.
Stewart, Cervelli and Ichiro! have 18 XB hits. Combined. In 311 ABs.
it almost makes you think that Huntington knows what he is doing
though in some cases the stupid is strong enough that you can still make a case)
Brett Gardner CF
Robinson Cano 2B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Travis Hafner DH
Vernon Wells LF
Kevin Youkilis 3B
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Jayson Nix SS
Chris Stewart C
At least the top 4 looks like the beginnings of a decent lineup, if you squint a bit ...
